Oh my goodness, its Monday September 13th, run, hide, lock up your daughters.

I guess I had bad luck all around today.  My weight and waist size have not changed in a week, how about that, not an ounce or a centimetre!!!  Oh well, it didn't go in the other direction and I have to try and focus in on that; I was after all, rather bad this week, I consumed a whole bad of Cheetos (cheesies.)

Last night I transferred three movies from our satellite receiver to DVD, they are
" Cat Ballou, Doubt, and K-Pax!"

Ben and Mandy called late yesterday afternoon to say they had a good visit, as did we, I notice Ben does not like to talk about his past, I have to try and remember that, it always puts him in a bad mood when I bring up people in his past so I have to remember and not do that in the future.

It seems people like it when I talk about movies and of Hollywood.  I kind of liked my post on the travesties of the Academy Awards myself.   I really would enjoy hearing what you thought shouldn't have happened and has happened at the Oscars, nothing political please.

Well its finally here people, Oprah's new season starts today, too bad it is her final one but I really believe she will be back in some other kind of talk show, sooner or later.  Make sure you set up your vcrs.

For the last ten years or so, I have been unsuccessfully trying to get tickets to be in the Oprah audience, I guess it just wasn't meant to happen, too bad for me.

If there are any teachers out there, people in the education field, or people who just like to read funny little stories on the experiences of a teacher, I discovered a fantastic blog entitled "Juice Bag and other Tales from an Elementary School Teacher!"  Its terrific, my only criticism is that it is not posted every day and I hope the writer changes this, she/he is too talented not to write more.

Just for my sister-in-law, Louise, the one and only and fabulous Louise, the most gorgeous woman on the planet,  Louise, mother-of-the-year,  Louise , most talented teacher,  Louise , best inspiration for good deed doer,  Louise, and Louise who now owes me fifty bucks, I am going to provide a review of the film "Fatal Attraction," which I just touched upon yesterday.

Okay, I've already stated what I think of Glenn Close, however, I think everyone should appreciate what a talented actress Glenn Close really is, it doesn't matter to me that she doesn't bathe, I'm nowhere in her vicinity, however, Glenn is able to go to such deep lengths of acting that one just has to watch in amazement.  Glenn Close really is that good and deserves an Oscar.

The script was dark, brooding and troubling and I was sorely disappointed that the filmmakers did not go with the ending wherein Glenn Close's character Alex commits suicide.  I guess, audiences really wanted to see her get killed, however, it would have been more realistic to watch Alex kill herself.

Michael Douglas, who did not show his behind in this movie, is just okay.  I've always liked Michael Douglas,  and I wish him well in his battle to beat throat cancer, going way back to seeing him on the television show, "The Streets of San Francisco," but I think a better actor should have played this part, such as, well, me.

Anne Archer, however, is amazing and I would pay money ten times over just to watch her, she really is beautiful and a strong testament to hetersexuality.  I love her.  And that little girl that played their daughter really was gifted.  I don't expect we will be seeing more of Ellen Hamilton Latzer, who played the character Ellen, but Ellen Hamilton Latzer really was a natural.

I think the movie "Fatal Attraction," served its purpose well, what can happen to someone who embarks on an affair, while being married.  You just never know what's going to happen and you are taking a big chance, not to mention risking your marriage, but you should or ought to know that.    The chance that you get someone as disturbed and demented as Alex Forrest is slim, but I had a friend who was murdered after bringing home a stranger, so it does happen.

Everybody feels differently about the movie "Fatal Attraction!"  Some married men feel that it saved their marriage and Glenn Close has had several men come up to her and admit that she scared the **** out of them, while saving their marriage.  Feminists argued that a high-powered successful woman should not be played as profoundly psychotic,  and strongly encouraged the producers to change the script, but, if you saw the movie you know this didn't happen.  Gay men cheered Alex on, hairdressers revolted in a frenzy never witnessed before, and all nuns thanked God for their marriage to Jesus.  That is for the reaction to the movie which was parodied in another movie entitled "Fatal Instinct," which is rather funny.

I liked the movie more than I thought I would,  but I really could have done without "the bunny scene."  I truly hated this scene, it made me sick, the writers had already shown how demented Alex Forrest was,  so I feel this scene was rather redundant, nonetheless, I am recommending you watch "Fatal Attraction," if you are an adult and have never seen it before.

I know the Nate Berkus show is premiering today, and I might give it a go, but I will not give up Live with Regis and Kelly so if I can't find another time slot for Mr. Berkus, I will not be one of his viewers, I don't think it will last anyway but you can never tell.

Last night Lady Gaga crept into one of my dreams, she does that you know so watch out for her.  I think Lady Gaga's performance art is amazing,  and I'm glad she is having such a successful career, but I do wish she would enunciate a little better, maybe I'm just getting too old but I have difficulty in understanding and hearing some of Lady Gaga's lyrics.

It is another gorgeous, blue, sunny, albeit a little chilly day here at the cottage on the lake.

May I ask you a personal question, I know this is rather personal, but what do you think of the colour purple?  It is my niece Jessie's favourite colour and I thought I would ask on her behalf, even though Jessie really doesn't care what anyone thinks, she knows what is correct and right.  Keep an eye out for my niece Jessie as one day she probably will be President of the United States and the White House will become The Purple House, you heard/read it here first!!!!!
